Cambridge Freemasons Club Strawberry Event

  • Tony Hore

After a break of three years due to COVID, the Freemasons Club were delighted to be able to hold their Summer Strawberry Event on the 9th July 2022.

In anticipation of good weather, which was duly granted to them, they decided to hold it outside as well as inside.

A total of 58 people from the various Cambridgeshire Lodges attended which included a small number of Lady Masons who meet at Bateman Street.

The Club organises six social events a year with a donation being made from the proceeds, usually a Raffle, to a local Charity which for this event was the Arthur Rank Hospice.

As well as the raffle, a bottle of Port from the cellars of Buckingham Palace, kindly donated by Bro Mick Pocock of Virtute et Fide Lodge No 7959, was auctioned and raised a further £70 for the Hospice. The lucky bidder was W Bro David Williams of University Rose Croix No 30.

A cheque for £450 was duly presented a few days later to Alison Pinney, Head of Fundraising at the Hospice, by the Club Secretary, W Bro Tony Hore.
